WE WILL NEVER
FORGET - September 11th,
2001
WE
REMEMBER AND WE PRAY FOR OUR FELLOW AMERICANS LOST ON 9.11.2001
We will never forget
the impact 9.11 had on our country and the impact it had on us as both Americans
and Arab Americans. As Americans we grieved for the loss of life caused to our
fellow Americans. We grieved as Arab Americans because as Arab Americans we
found ourselves in receipt of backlash and discrimination at the hand of our
fellow Americans due to the actions caused by Muslim extremists.
There were over 1,300 cases of backlash and discrimination and eight deaths
(homicides) to Arab, Asian, and Muslim Americans directly after 9.11.
We in the military found that our Patriotism and Service to our country was put
into question by some of our fellow Americans - doubt that still continues
today.
We rallied together to use our uniform and our contributions in the military to
prove to America that Arab Americans were not tied or associated to the
perpetrators of 9.11. We used our uniform as a teaching tool to help educate our
fellow Americans about the difference.
We found that there were over 3,500 Arab Americans serving in the military. We
also found that Arab Americans have been serving and giving their life to this
great country since the Revolutionary War (Private Nathan Badeen). We have
fought in every climb and place to protect the freedom of America. Hundreds of
Arab and Muslim Americans have deployed and many are still deployed overseas
contributing with Operation Enduring Freedom in the Global War on Terrorism. We
are committed to eradicating and ending terrorism once and for all.
We serve in memory of our fellow Americans lost on 9.11.2001
God Bless America,
