U.S. Air Force – Airman, Ali Farran

A heartfelt message from CWO-4 Sam Farran, USMCR

I have great news to report to APAAM.

As you all know that I have been serving my country for 30 years as of Nov 1, 2008 (also retirement date) in the United States Marine Corps. I have many great memories and experiences during my tenure in the Corps and five exceptional moments that will carry on with me forever.

These are:

1. Joining the Marine Corps

2. Becoming a Marine (graduation day).

3. Promoted to Seargent (I always loved that rank)

4. Becoming a Marine Officer

5. SWEARING IN MY SON INTO THE MILITARY

Yes!!!!! on June 10, 2008 I had the honor and pleasure to swear in my son Ali Farran into the United States Air Force (not a word Jamal). I took so much pride to stand up there in uniform after all of the other recruits were sworn in by the standard process, and then I was called upon to administer the oath to my son.

It was a moving experience that I will cherish forever.

Airman Ali Farran is in Lackland Airforce Base in Texas on his first official day of boot camp. As you may recall him, his picture was all over the news during our first APAAM memorial day parade last year marching and holding my picture of support to the family and organization. Well, he is our newest member.
