Master Sergeant  Samir Yahya Abdulaziz, US Army

Master Sergeant Samir Yahya Abdulaziz holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Liberal Arts from Excelsior College, and is currently pursuing a Master of Science degree in Human Resources Management.   

He entered Basic Training as a Private in March 1986 at Fort Bliss, Texas.  In Aug 1986, he completed Advanced Individual Training as a Light Vehicle Mechanic, 63B at Fort Leonard Wood, MO.   

MSG Abdulaziz previous assignments include:  Light wheel Vehicle Mechanic, HHC 141st Signal Battalion, Ansbach, Germany; Squad Leader, HHC 5th Engineers Battalion, Fort Leonard wood, MO; Shop Foreman, A Company 724th Main Support Battalion, Fort Stewart, GA;Motor Sergeant, D Company 724th Main Support Battalion, Fort Stewart, GA; Detachment 1SG, Army Central Command, Riyadh, Saudi-Arabia; Observer Controller, 5th Armored BDE, Salt Lake City, UT; Operations Coordinator, Defense Attaché Office, US Embassy Port-au-Prince, Haiti; Operations Coordinator, Defense Attaché Office, US Embassy Kinshasa, Democratic Republic of Congo; Vault NCOIC, Defense Courier Service Station, Baltimore, MD; 1SG Army Central Command, Kuwait City, Kuwait; Installation Equal Opportunity Advisor, Defense Language Institute, Monterey CA and currently serving as the Senior Equal Opportunity Advisor for the Intelligence and Security Command, Fort Belvoir, VA. 

His deployments includes: Haiti, Saudi-Arabia, Kuwait, and Iraq.  MSG Abdulaziz military education includes Primary Leadership Development Course, Basic Noncommissioned Officer’s Course, Advance Noncommissioned Officer’s Course, Attaché Staff Operations Course, Operations Coordinator Management Course, Mobilization, Battle Staff, and the Equal Opportunity Advisor Course. 

His awards and decorations include: Defense Meritorious Service Medal, Meritorious Service Medal, Joint Service Commendation Medal with 1 Oak Leaf Cluster, Army Commendation Medal with 6 Oak Leaf Clusters, Joint Service Achievement Medal, Army Achievement Medal 1 Oak Leaf Cluster, Good Conduct Medal – 6th Award, National Defense Service Ribbon with 2 Bronze Star, Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal, Southwest Asia Service Medal with 3 Bronze Service Stars, Iraq Campaign Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal, Armed Forces Service Medal, Military outstanding Volunteer Service Medal, NCO Professional Development Ribbon with number 3, Army Service Ribbon, Army Overseas Ribbon – 3rd Award, Multinational Force and Observers Medal, Kuwait Liberation Medal (Saudi Arabia), the Kuwait Liberation Medal (Kuwait), Combat Action Badge, Air assault Badge and the German Shutzenschnur Badge.

MSG Abdulaziz is married to Luz Perez, together they have 4 daughters.
